A traffic free route on shared walking and cycling paths.
This route starts from outside the Old Bells Sports Centre, does a lap of the North Inch and the heads out beside the golf course to the lower reaches to the River Almond. We have views across to Scone Palace and occasionally an Osprey is seen fishing in the River.

There is now a short climb to get us on to the next section of path which will take us our through the new picnic area to the Destiny Bridge. Staying on the cycle path we cross the bridge and now have views on our right of the Scone Race Course. We continue to follow the path to he bird hide at the Stormonfield Wetland Habitat.

Here we pause and check what birds are round and then begin our journey back. This is where we have the biggest climb of the day getting over the bridge. We just take our time and then it's left back down into the Picnic area.

Keeping to the path we go under the main road and rejoin the riverside path taking us back to our starting point.

We will stop as and when the ride leaders ask, which is discussed during the ride briefing at the start. Junctions and tops of hills (where safe to do so), photos stops, drink stops, etc
We are out to enjoy ourselves, so please let the ride leader know if there are any stops you want us to make.

On all rides a helmet is mandatory.

Please dress for the weather, wearing whatever is comfortable for you on the bike. Generally clothing should not flap about at the ankles, as it can get caught in the chain, and watch for any clothing catching on the saddle.

Bring water and whatever you might need should you get a puncture.
