Oasis to Purton Circular

This lovely 15.4 mile figure of eight route takes you through Swindon’s central cycle network and out towards the meandering country lanes towards Purton and Purton Stoke.  The route begins at Oasis Leisure Centre and heads past the green of Moredon towards Mouldon Hill Country Park where we can view the Haydon Henge Stones. From there we cycle west towards Lydiard Millicent, leaving the urban scenery behind for rural Wiltshire. We then divert north into Purton with a stop at the PIPS community café.

The return journey from here meanders on glorious country lanes to Bentham continuing on through Purton Stoke along more country lanes before passing the Swindon and Cricklade Railway. We enter north Swindon via route 45 onto cycle paths which have a country feel in spite of cutting through housing estates and finally return to the Oasis via the designated cycle network.
