Route rating

A circular scenic route commencing at Longford Park, a lovely ride along the canal followed by some small roads in Dunham. We come back along The Trans Pennine Trail through woods and along the Mersey. A treat of a ride! The ride has no difficulties as such and little elevation but you need to be able to ride 20 miles.

The ride is suitable for mountain, gravel and hybrid bikes and e-bikes. It is not suitable for road bikes, The ride is a mixture of canal towpath, trails and roads. You need to have some confidence to cycle on roads with traffic.

We will ride at leisurely pace and have short stops to hydrate and take photos. We will have a longer stop at Dunham Massey café where you will have a chance get a drink and some food at the café if you so wish. You can bring your food if you prefer.

Please wear a helmet, bring a bike lock, an inner tube, a drink and money for the café.

We are a friendly group and welcome new people!
