Out on an Island - The Partners, Virginia and Tennyson

From Strawberry Lane Car Park, we head up Mottistone Down down along the Tennyson Trail, then along to Compton Down through the golf course, north along part of the Freshwater Way, through Freshwater to Farringford, home of Tennyson, across to Dimbola Lodge, home of Julia Margaret Cameron, a friend of Virginia Woolf, then along a few miles of the Round the Island Route along the Military Road as far as Compton Chine, back onto bridleways through Dunsbury to Hulverstone, then Mottistone Manor, home of Paget and Seely (The Partners), finally climbing Strawberry Lane to the car park.
