Outdoor Spin - Lock Lane

The route begins in the Spa Road car park at Queen’s Park. From there we will meander through the park up to the top where we will join Chorley New Road. We will travel along there until we take a left turn onto Ladybridge Lane. From here we cross over the Middlebrook Trail and cut through Deane golf course until we arrive at Ladybridge Estate. From there we will turn right and join the shared cycleway on Beaumont Road and take a left turn onto Glengarth Drive which turns into Tempest Road. Left turn onto Lock Lane, which is all cobble stones, and then left turn onto Wigan Road. We will then rejoin the shared cycleway on Beaumont Road and return to Queen’s Park via the Middlebrook Trail.

Come along and join Helen and Taz for this Friday morning leg stretch. This ride is ideal for anyone who has completed Sofa 2 Saddle but, perhaps, hasn’t done much cycling since and would like to practice their skills a little more before signing up for some of the longer rides on Let’s Ride.

The route is a mixture of roads, shared paths and Middlebrook Trail.

The route is only short and there are no café stops along the way so please bring a drink with you. There is, however, the opportunity for a refreshment at the café at Queen’s Park on our return.

Please arrive 15 mins early for a bike and helmet check so that we can set off promptly at 10am. Remember to bring a spare inner tube and pump and, of course, your helmet. No helmet, no ride.
