This is a no drop ride. However, please note if there is a definite difference in participants competency and speed, the ride will be divided into appropriate ride groups.
Starting in Tankerton, we will ride out towards Canterbury via Chestfield and Thorndon Wood Road. Joining Clowes Wood Road towards Tyler Hill, we will take a right turn before Tyler Hill hill (!) (by the Tylers Kiln Pub) and continue here until we reach Blean Church when we join the Crab & Winkle Way. But that's ok, because here the path is smooth. Riding through the University of Kent we will have to ascend up a short hill. Crossing the Canterbury to Whitstable road by Kent College, we again pick up the Crab & Winkle Way - a traffic free path - into Canterbury. Riding through the outskirts of Canterbury via North Lane, Northgate and North Holmes Road, we continue on into Spring Lane and Pilgrims Way where we pick up the Pilgrims Way traffic free path all the way to Bekesbourne/Patrixbourne/Bridge. Arriving in Bekesbourne we will cycle along a slightly busier country road to our refreshment stop.
The return journey takes us through Bekesbourne, Fordwich, Sturry and Maypole heading into Broomfield and then Herne Bay. From Hampton, Herne Bay the ride again picks up the traffic free coastal path back into Tankerton.
If you live in Herne Bay, there is the option to leave the ride at a point convenient to you. If you live anywhere between Tankerton and Canterbury and wanted to join the ride along the route you are welcome to do so, but at the ride end in Tankerton you will be responsible for finding your own way home.

The best way to start your weekend with a morning ride to Bekesbourne.

We will be riding on a mixture of town roads, country lanes and traffic free cycle paths/routes.

Our planned refreshment stop is Woolton Farm in Bekesbourne. This is a camp site, glamping site, shop and cafe/bar/restaurant.

Helmets are compulsory on this ride. Also remember to bring with you spare inner tube, bike pump and tools for removing tyres and wheels. Essential medication, cash/card for refreshment and dress for the weather. Fluids.

We never leave anyone behind
