Starting from - Start:
Dalkeith High School / Community Campus (first left at the traffic lights heading East after Aldi's) and just at the start of the large car park area within the school grounds (near the Sustans sign). Postcode EH22 2PS.
Car parking (if you need to bring a car) is usually ok within the school grounds. Or nearby in local housing estate. As it's a week day the car park may be busy but you can also park at Sainsbury's and cycle along to the meeting point. There are toilets in the campus if needed (but please allow time for that so we can leave sharp at 10am). EH22 2AW

A 17 mile flattish route starting from Dalkeith High School to Inveresk and taking the shared path to Wallyford (passing the Pinkie Cleugh Battle site), onto Prestonpans and Cockenzie on the road and then picking up the coastal shared path Musselburgh for refreshments at the Company Bakery and then picking up the shared path back along the River Esk back to to Whitecraigs and Dalkeith. Lots of history and wildlife to be seen!

A 17 mile flattish route from Dalkeith High School to Inveresk, Wallyford, Prestonpans, Cockenzie and back via the coastal path to Musselburgh to the Company Bakery and then returning along the River Esk back to Dalkeith. Mixture of shared paths with a few main road sections.

We will be cycling on mixed surfaces - shared paths, light gravel and road sections from Wallyford, Cockenzie, Prestonpans and at Musselburgh. We will likely pass walkers, dogs and horses and maybe tiny humans on balance bikes, so please stay safe and keep other users safe.

We will have a stop at the Company Bakery at Musselburgh, hopefully in their sitting area outside.

Please bring the following with you: Bike in good and safe working order and well maintained, a helmet is essential, spare inner-tube / puncture repair kit, a bike lock if you have one, layers (including a waterproof incase of rain), card or cash payment if you want to buy anything at our café stop. We don't leave anyone behind but if you find yourself in a position of being unable to continue with the ride for any reason, for example in the event of a puncture / mechanical that cannot be fixed at the roadside, then you need a plan for getting back home. And of course you will need a water bottle or two, some snacks just incase we dont stop for coffee (for what ever reason), sunscreen and loads of chat!

We never leave anyone behind
