We'll head off through Jesmond Dene, over the Moor and around Leazes Park, before returning through town and Heaton Park.
It will be dark - cycling in the dark on traffic-free routes can be great fun, and a very different way to see the city.
We'll probably stop in one of the pubs in town for a bit of light refreshment.
Good lights and a lock essential. Wear clothes that keep you warm, dry and visible. Helmets advised.
