Starting point

London

Please read the Post Lock Down Rules at the Bottom of this description.

We do try to leave @ 8.45 but I will wait 5 minutes for late arrivals & noone is ever left behind and there are regular stops.

The only reason this is described as a challenging ride is its distance, The ride is essentially flat apart from one proper hill up Greenwich Park, otherwise the climbing is more like false flats which you will hardley notice and we will average something like 17.5 kph or between 10 & 11 mph.

Setting of from Peckham Rye we make our way via quiet back roads to Ladywell and then to Lewisham and via a mixture of cyclepaths and quiet roads to Greenwich Park, past the Prime Meridian and out to Blackheath, and then via traffic free cycleways and very quiet roads to Welling Way after which we are back on very quiet roads to Lesnes Abbey. After this we are on either traffic free cycle ways or cycle routes with barely any traffic at all until we get back to the Cutty Sark via the Thames Path. then its sort of back the way we came along quietish cycle routes to Peckham Rye.

you will pass a number of very memorable landmarks including, Woolwich Armoury, Tiptree Point, the Thames Barrier and Greenwich Naval College.

JIC Please bring spare inner tube, pump/co2 cannisters, tyre levers some food/gels. Check your tyres & bike. If you need to get hold of me my mobile is 07909703325
