For the first ride for the Nant y Arain hub we will follow the Pendam Trail. The trail includes man- made singletrack, forest roads and bridleways and country lanes passing several small lakes.
Some experience of mountain biking is required for this trail. Although it is classified as a Red Trail it is at the 'entry level' of the grade and much of it is blue or green. We will spend some time in the skills area before setting off to 'warm up'. We will take our time and make sure everyone is confident to ride (or walk) all sections, and stop regularly to admire the view!
We will finish the ride with an optional visit to the cafe for coffee or lunch.
Helmets essential and make sure you bring spare tubes (or tubeless repair kit), water and snacks!
Keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately - it can get very windy at Nant y Arain.
Over the course of the summer we will vary the rides depending on what people want - there are many bridleways in the area so we don't always have to ride the three main trails, or we can 'mix and match' and some rides will be suitable for women new to mountain biking.
