Pink Ribbon Tour - Breeze - Bicycle Hokey Cokey

Breeze rides are sociable bike rides for women.

This ride forms part of The Pink Ribbon Tour – an awareness event for the charity, Breast Cancer Care. Whilst there is no obligation to make a donation to the charity, if you decided to do so, it would be awesome!

This ride is bicycle hokey cokey taking us on a route where the first half dips in and out of Scotland and England, when will our legs be in Scotland, and when will they be in England? Come along and find out!

The route starts in Gretna Green, after completing a quick bike check we will head out on back roads towards Longtown, but we turn off before reaching Longtown and join the B6357 heading towards Chapelknowe. This B road is very quiet but we may meet some traffic. From Chapelknowe we head towards Kirkpatrick Fleming (there will be a small hill on this part, but nothing horrible), at Kirkpatrick Fleming we turn left and return to Gretna Green, where we have plenty of options to get a cup of tea and slice of cake.

Breeze rides are sociable and we always go at the pace of the slowest rider: no one is ever left behind. Whilst helmets are not compulsory, they are recommended. Keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately – and remember that you are never fully dressed without a spare inner tube!
The ride is suitable for all bike types, and for both less experienced and more experienced riders. The roads are quiet and we will probably only meet a little bit of traffic. If you are not confident on the road it is an excellent opportunity to get some experience in a supportive environment.
