Starting point

Somerset
BS20 7HD

We shall leave Esplanade road and progress via residential roads to Portishead marina. After walking over the Lock we will make our way to Sheepway via residential roads and and the nature reserve.

We shall cross over the M5 into Portbury using the footbridge, this is not difficult to ride over but if anyone prefers they can just walk their bike over.

From Portbury will be mainly on country roads until we get to the outskirts of Clevedon at which point we will join the main A road for a short distance before turning up Walton Street at Walton in Gordano, this is the main climb of the ride but is characterised by some welcome flat sections where one can pause if wanted, No one will be left behind and everyone can do the climb at their own pace. The reward for the climb is a lovely view over the Bristol Channel. We shall descend on Nore Road, this can be a fast descent with some traffic at times but again everyone can go at a speed which is right for them.

Once on Nore Road it is only a very short ride back to the starting point and a welcome cafe stop for a well deserved drink, cake and chat.

We will start from Esplanade Road by the Lido in Portishead, there is usually plenty of on road parking just on the hill past the lido. This is a circular route, much of it on country lanes but with some residential and busier roads as well. The route has one hill and a fast descent which might be trickey for absolute beginners but apart from that the riding will be relatively easy and we will always go at the pace of the slowest riders, no one will be left behind and its not a problem ifanyone needs to walk on the hill First time Breeze riders are always very welcome, it is a lovely way to meet new people and enjoy the outdoors.

Suitable for most bike types, if in doubt just drop me an email

We shall finish the ride with a nice stop for a drink and cake at the Lido Cafe

Please wear a helmet and bring some money / card for the cafe stop. Also a spare inner tuber for your bike.
