Preston Railway Station

Says it all really - Southport via Longton, Tarleton, Hesketh Bank, Banks and Marine Drive. From Preston Station (ample parking at Fishergate for those who wish to drive) we cycle southwest to Southport. This will start at 10:30. It is mainly roads, aside the initial A59 stretch and the last stretch to Southport, it's mainly country roads. It should take around 2 hours 30 minutes, it being 20 miles. There is a good pub at Tarleton which is about half way (Cock and Bottle) which should do Sunday lunch, should anyone wish to have Sunday lunch. For the hardy amongst you, the option will be there to cycle back to Preston (or indeed, wherever you wish to cycle back to) but we will be ending the Southwest-ward journey at Southport Train Station, from which a train to Preston will be available. The return cycle is 40 miles, and it SHOULD be with the wind on the way back, prevailing wind allowing. Meet at the front of Preston Station at the bottom of the ramp at 10:30am.
