Holmfirth

This is a fantastic challenging route taking in 27 amazing miles around the Kirklees district.  As anybody from the area will know Huddersfield is hilly and this ride really makes the most of this. Climbing them can be a challenge, but a challenge that really is rewarded with stunning views across a beautiful West Yorkshire landscape.  Don't be put off though, as there are plenty of flat sections in between hills to appreciate 'Last of the Summer Wine' country. The route starts at Holmfirth Pool and passes through the towns and villages of Holmbridge, Kirkburton, New Mill and Thurstonland.

This ride uses part of National Cycle Network (NCN) route 68. To find out more about the NCN and other great places to cycle near you everyday, go to the Sustrans website (http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/national-cycle-network).
