New to cycling? Thinking about getting back into it but don’t know where to start? Just fancy a gentler ride in stunning autumn scenery?

Then a car-free loop in Richmond Park that misses out most of the hills is the ride for you.

From the cafe at Roehampton Gate we will follow the Tamsin Trail around to Ham Gate and then take Ham Cross to Pen Ponds cafe, past White Lodge and then work our way back to our start point.

All are welcome but the ride is targeted at Beginners/Returners and we will go at a comfortable pace for all. No-one will be left behind. The aim is enjoyment and building confidence.

In subsequent rides, we may expand the route as confidence and fitness grows. Initially, the rides will run on the first Sunday of the month but if they are popular I will expand the programme. If you are keen but Sundays are not suitable, please message me and I’ll try and add an extra date.

EDITED TO ADD THAT AT POPULAR REQUEST, I WILL ADD A SECOND LAP (IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION) FOR THOSE WHO WANT A LONGER RIDE.

WHAT DO YOU NEED:
A bike in good working order - the Tamsin Trail is gravel so hydrid, cyclocross or mountain bikes (or tyres) are recommended. Make sure the tyres are pumped up and the brakes work.
Suitable clothing for cycling and the weather - cycling specific clothing is NOT required but avoid anything loose or billowy that could get caught.
A cycling helmet
A spare inner tube is advisable in case of punctures
Money for coffee and cake (optional)
