Welcome to HSBC Guided Rides. This ride is aimed at people who have just got into cycling and are looking to build confidence and explore the lightly trafficked corners of Carlisle and surrounding countryside. The ride goes along parkland paths, cycle tracks and some minor roads with light traffic so is ideal for families.

You will be led by British Cycling-trained leaders who are there to support you all the way. We will leave Bitts Park on cycle tracks, over the Memorial Bridge to Rickerby Park, following Hadrian’s Cycleway. A minor road takes us through Linstock before we pick up a cycle track to take us to Crosby on Eden. We then retrace our outward journey with a chance to stop for a paddle at the Eden.

There are no cafes or shops en route so please bring a drink as well as a waterproof if it looks like rain. Finally, we must follow any pandemic restrictions. Group size will be limited to six and we ask everyone to maintain social distance. If new restrictions are brought in please check this website for the latest guidance on this ride.

A great ride out to encourage anyone to get back on their bike. Starting form the Queen Victoria Statue in Bitts Park..
