You’ll find countryside and history in abundance on this flat 27 mile outing!
Our route takes us northwest on the Bridgewater Canal towpath, skirts Trafford Park, and the Trafford Centre, crosses the Manchester Ship canal at Barton, then goes through picturesque Worsley and onwards to Astley Green (site of the Lancashire Mining Museum).  From there we head south across the moss to Irlam Railway station for optional refreshments at Café 1923.
We continue south via the Linear Park, across the locks into Flixton, and pick up the TransPennine Trail back to Sale Water Park.
