Starting point

Durham
DL1 4WD

Starting from the Beefeater at Morton Park, this ride takes us in a south-easterly direction, through Hurworth, Low Dinsdale and Girsby, then heading through Hornby and Appleton Wiske, before arriving at East Rounton and the Roots Farm Shop and Café. The return ride brings us back via Kirklevington and Yarm, then Aislaby and Middleton St George on our return to the Beefeater.

This ride is classed as a CHALLENGING ride which is around 33 miles (a little over 15 miles each way). The ride is undulating with some small hill climbs. The ride is almost all on the road or cycleways – all bike types are suitable. It is suitable for riders who are comfortable sustaining around 10mph avg. and can continually cycle for around 2 hours each way. The stopover is usually around 1 hour. Bear in mind these times are a guide and the ride can take longer.
