Shelter by the rangers' cabin at Marbury Country Park, off Marbury Road, Comberbach, Northwich, Cheshire.

This ride is in memory of our friend and Breeze Champion Claire O'Brien, who sadly passed away on August 19. It was the first route she planned for Breeze. It takes us through some of the most beautiful country lanes and picturesque villages in Cheshire as we cycle from the shady woodlands of Marbury Country Park, in Northwich, to the historic estate of Tatton Park, in Knutsford. The route is a little more challenging as we venture out on to the open road. But much of it is on very quiet lanes, where cycling is the norm!We will meet at the car park of Marbury Country Park for a quick introduction and bike check. Then we’ll head through the neighbouring village of Comberbach and along a road with lovely views of Budworth Mere. The route then heads past Cransley School and skirts Great Budworth and Arley, passing between hedgerows, fields and woods.A bridge takes us over the M6 (where we can look down and gloat that we’re not stuck in traffic and are marvellously virtuous out on our bike ride) before plunging us back into the Cheshire countryside and towards Bucklow Hill.At the junction by The Swan we will dismount and cross safely then hop back in our saddles for the last leg through the gorgeous village of Rostherne to Tatton Park. .It’s a fairly flat route and is about 10 miles each way (20 in total). Riding time will be about two hours. Please allow time for a relaxed lunch too. This ride is suited for all bikes. Please bring a helmet, inner tube and puncture repair kit just in case.Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome, don't worry if you don't know anyone, we're a friendly bunch.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too.Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.If you have any questions then email [email protected].
