Ride Through Steventon on Jane Austen's Birthday

Today, 16th December, is Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday! We will meet in Oakley and ride out along the Harrow Way to Deane and then back through Steventon. We’ll take a short detour up to St Nicholas’ church and see where Jane was baptized. Afterwards, we’ll head back to Oakley for refreshments at Jolly Olly’s Café.

The ride will be at a leisurely pace on quiet country roads with frequent stops to re-group. No rider will be left behind. New members are always welcome.

You will need a roadworthy bike and cycle helmet, together with a spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers for puncture repair. Any bike type is appropriate but please make sure that it is in good working order and that your tyres are well inflated.
