Starting point

NG24 3NG

Carpark of the Tawny Owl pub, William Hall Way, Fernwood, Newark

We'll meet at the Tawny Owl in Fernwood, where those arriving by car can park. We'll ride mainly on flat countryside roads with fantastic views of the Nottinghamshire countryside. The ride will suit hybrid or road bike. MTB will be hard work on this route. We will start off with a couple of non-major roundabouts and will then be on flat roads heading towards the beautiful village of Claypole, from which we will cycle through onto open country roads heading towards Hough on the Hill where we have a little surprise of a 200 metre 9% incline hill!!! Once at the top we will turn left and head to Caythorpe and ride through their stunning village and then turn onto the A607 heading towards Fulbeck Tea Rooms. We are on the A607 for approximately a mile and it is a little hilly, so you will need to be reasonably bike fit. This ride is perfect for those who are already confident out on the road, its an intermediate ride. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. We really welcome newcomers to our rides.  It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is compulsory on this ride. Please bring some money if you want to buy refreshments. Looking forward to seeing you there! www.facebook.com/breeze-network-newark-sherwood If you have any questions please email us on [email protected]
