Book and attend all six sessions in the series and you will get a FREE heavy duty cycle lock and cable!
(Note - you can book and attend individual sessions, but the coaching is progressive so your riding will benefit more from coming on all six sessions.)

This series of combined coaching sessions and rides will build your skills and confidence on your bike, as well as improving your ability to ride close to other riders. We will start each session with 45 minutes' coaching at the Preston Park cycle track, then head out for a ride together, usually heading for a cafe where we will pause before returning into Brighton (10 miles total).

This video, made last year, gives you a flavour of what we get up to: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UZl-eOr29OY

The focus of the coaching will depend partly on the skill level of the group, but is likely to include:

- Starting (pedal ready) and stopping safely
- Using both brakes effectively
- Controlling your bike
- Looking behind whilst riding
- Using gears to manage your energy on a ride
- Riding one-handed so that you can signal and drink whilst riding
- Cornering
- Group riding
- Climbing hills
- Descending hills

The coaching sessions and rides will be led by Alison, a fully qualified and insured British Cycling Level 2 Road & Time Trial Coach and Level 2 Ride Leader and she will have an assistant ride leader with her to ensure no-one gets left behind on the ride.
