Riverside to Countryside

This ride is particularly suitable for new riders wishing to build their confidence.

Our route will initially take us through Riverside Park along the River Itchen as far as Woodmill. We'll then follow NCN 23 on shared pathways and a quiet residential road as far as Mansbridge. More shared pathways will then be used to reach Itchen Valley Country Park.

On reaching Itchen Valley Country Park we can explore the park's gravel cycle trail which runs near the park's GoApe area and then around the upper meadows which are full of wild flowers at present. We'll take a short break at or near the Woodland Cafe (which will be closed).

Following our break we will return to Riverside Park via shared pathways and a quiet road.

We will ride together at all times at an easy pace that everyone is comfortable with. Please bring a snack and a drink if you wish.

Make sure you wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions and a cycle helmet. Please also bring a pump and spare inner tube that fits your bike if you have one.

This ride may be shortened dependent on the conditions and those attending. If you have any questions or concerns, please just message me. If feeling unwell closer to the ride and unable to attend, please cancel your place so we release it to someone else.
