This is a challenging ride due to some long hills and reasonable handling skills are needed. It’s not advisable on a road bike as the canal is very stony.
Leaving Whittle we soon join the canal.
We make our way to Adlington and up to Limbrick.
Our brew stop is in Rivington.
The return journey takes us on some quiet lanes towards Cowling where we rejoin the canal. Then back to Whittle.

A gorgeous ride with a mixture of canal, leafy lanes and a few hills.

Mostly canal towpaths and quiet lanes with a couple of short sections of busier roads.

Stopping at the fab Rivington tearooms.

Helmets are compulsory on my rides. Please carry your own inner tubes and means to deal with your own repairs/punctures. Dress for the weather conditions. Cash/card and lock for cafe stop. Check your bike the night before.

We never leave anyone behind
