Whether you are new to cycling, getting back on a bike for the first time after a break or want to feel a little more confident on rides here is the perfect opportunity to build your confidence. Two coaching sessions have been planned specifically to take you step by step through some core cycling skills and to help build your confidence to enable you to ride your bike for leisure, sport or as a form of transport.
Depending on each individuals riding skills we might split into two groups so everyone has the opportunity to develop at their own pace (or at least close to it)
Ideally, please sign up to both courses but otherwise please come to what you can. The dates for the courses are Sunday 10th and Sunday 17th September
In the first session we’ll focus on developing skills that help you control and manoeuvre your bike. This will be followed by a short ride on quiet residential roads where we will look at where to ride your bike in the road, junctions and passing parked vehicles. In the second session we will build on the skills based on your requests and evaluation of session 1. We will then go for another ride on quieter roads.
What do I need to take part?
* A bike with gears that is in safe working order (with the tyres pumped up). These could be either: Road Bike, Mountain Bike or Hybrid/Town Bikes.
* Suitable clothing for cycling/weather. Leggings or shorts are ideal as they cannot get caught up in the bike.
* Suitable footwear.
Please also dress to the weather, bearing in mind there will be frequent stops for coaching points and discussion.
Bring a drink and something to eat (if needed) and remember to tell us on the day if you have anything of a medical nature you wish to let us know about.
