Eccles

This 12 mile mainly traffic-free route provides an insight into the leafy trail that takes you through the Salford suburbs to the peaceful tranquillity of Blackleach Country Park. Once a bleak industrial site, known locally as Stink Bomb Hill, Blackleach is now a key part of the Red Rose Forest and is an ideal spot to cycle, walk, have a picnic and enjoy the varied wildlife. Sections of the trail are very loose shale so wider tyres are a sensible choice.
