Scunthorpe, Villages & Back (with a CAKE stop)

We travel out from The Pods along Ashby Road, Oswald Road & Frodingham Road before we turn Left onto Ferry Road. Down the hill & along Ferry Road West & over the Orbital Road. Heading along the Trent bank before we open our lungs up for the climb up to Flixborough. Taking the back roads we travel towards & then through Burton upon Stather turning left onto Tee Lane. Along the nice quiet country lane, with a fantastic view across the Trent valley. Arriving at out CAKE stop (well there has to be one, that's what cycling is about right) at The Paddocks Tea Room. From there we head off down Whitton Road (a nice slight down hill bit to give the legs a break). We turn right at the junction & head off back towards Scunthorpe passing through the villages of West Halton, Colby & Thealby. Past Normanby Park. As we enter Scunthorpe we take a right at the mini roundabout & back down Ferry Road, turning left onto Henderson Avenue & towards Church Lane. Left onto Church Lane & down to the traffic lights. At the lights it right & up over Howdens Hill (last hill I promise) on the dual carriageway of Ashby Road before taking another right & back to The Pods
