Starting point

Midlothian
EH4 2BH

We will take the Blackhall path out to Barnton, pass between the golf courses to then turn right onto Whitehouse Rd. This is the first road section, which is wide & usually quiet at this time of day. We will turn left at Cramond Glebe Rd & cycle all the way to the waterfront at Cramond. A short stop here to take in the view. We will continue along the waterfront to Gypsy Brae, where we will continue to the Forthquarter Park, cycle through the park then onto the path by Waterfront Ave and onto West Harbour Rd, which we cross, then turn right and right again to bring us onto Granton Sq. Turning left we join the shared path at Wardie, another waterfront ride to the junction and onto Trinity path. At the next path junction we turn left to the coffee stop at Milk cafe. From the cafe we will retrace a short section to then pass through Victoria Park. Then turn right & follow the path until we meet Warriston path where we turn right, then left at the junction onto Ferry Road path and a straight cycle back to the starting point.

Route rating

0 stars (0) Reviews

A scenic route along shared paths, the seafronts at Cramond and Wardie and a few parks.

The route is mostly traffic free, the few roads we will cycle on are wide and quiet at this time of day.

We will stop at Milk cafe just off the Hawthornvale path

Helmets are strongly advised, wear clothing appropriate for the weather and it's always a good idea to bring waterproofs. Also bring a means of payment if you wish to buy a refreshment at the stop, bring spare inner tubes should the unthinkable happen & a bike lock if you have one.

First-timers welcome!
