She Pedals Scotland is a fantastic initiative brought to us by Diane Maciver and Lorna Breetzke, from Elgin Cycling Club which aims to inspire as many women and girls as possible across Scotland, to ride their bikes on June 14th, 2025. With many of us sharing their passion, their vision of having a special day to celebrate women and girls on bikes is a fantastic idea.

If you're able to take part, whether it be a few miles or more, please register so these wonderful ladies know how many women they've inspired. To register please search Instagram or Facebook "She Pedals Scotland" and the registration link is in 'featured'. Registration is free and everyone who registers and confirms their ride will be entered into a prize draw for £100!

We'd love to have organised a Breeze led ride, but we're otherwise involved on this date and unable to commit, but to encourage, we thought we'd put up a community ride and the Honey Cottage is always a favourite.

Meeting at the Heart of Hawick, head out towards Martins Bridge and turn right to Roberton, Alemoor and left at Tushielaw, onwards to Honey Cottage for a well earned break. Return home the same way.

Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear clothes suitable for the weather and have a drink and snacks in case you need them.

Please ensure you're bike is in good working order and the tyres are pumped up. Have any spares or tools you might need for your type of bike, and if riding an e-bike, please ensure the battery is charged and you have a rescue plan should you encounter a mechanical.

There are no leaders on this ride, so please look out for each other and be mindful of potholes, gravel and livestock.

Enjoy your pedal :)
