Shepshed

The 'Shepshed to Loughborough along Route 6' route starts takes advantage of the the traffic-free cycling and walking route between Shepshed and Loughborough known as the 'Garendon Trail'.  The Garendon Trail is a local named section of national cycle route 6.  The national cycle route network was devised by sustainable transport charity Sustrans, and now covers over 14,000 miles across the UK of mostly traffic-free and quiet roads.  On reaching Loughborough, at Coe Avenue, our route leaves the Garendon Trail and uses the local cycle route network to the mid-ride break at Charnwood Museum cafe.  The return route continues on the local cycle routes through Loughborough to rejoin the Garendon Trail and retrace the route back to Shepshed. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
