Let’s Ride events are fun days out where cyclists take over the streets of a town or city. Riding on roads normally full of cars is an unforgettable experience. There’s loads of other stuff going on too, from music and market stalls, to extreme cycling and competitions.

Sky Ride events are over until next spring, but there are still tons of opportunities for you to get out on your bike.

Whether you’re saving money, considering the environment, avoiding the traffic jams, getting fit or wanting to take in some breathtaking scenery – let us point you in the right direction with cycling tips, clubs and routes in your local area.

Cycling support in Glasgow 
Cycling in Glasgow can be great fun. The Glasgow City Council website offers a range of information on rides and routes for all abilities and all the family.  Scottish Cycling is also working with the city councils and partners to promote cycling opportunities.

The Glasgow Cycle Network of 375km of identified routes is being developed by Glasgow city council – and there’s already over 200km of routes. Disability cycling is also going from strength to strength in the city.

Places to ride
Glasgow city centre and the surrounding area has some great places to ride.  The parks in particular are great and many of the Sky Ride Local rides this year took in the beautiful parks including Glasgow Green.Glasgow City Council has produced a selection of cycle leaflets can help you with commuter routes, and city to countryside rides. Facilities
Mountain bike: Glasgow has some great mountain bike circuits in Cathkin Braes Country Park. So you can try out the venue that’s been chosen for the 2014 Commonwealth Games! The circuits cater for different levels of skills and experience from an introduction to mountain biking or a serious challenge. For more information click here.
