Sky Ride is coming back to Ipswich and it’s going to be an unforgettable day for people and families of all ages. Anyone can get involved, no matter how wobbly you might be on a bike.
We’ll be giving you the unique opportunity to ride your bike through Ipswich’s streets, without a car in sight. It’s free and easy to register and we’ll be providing bike-hire on the day, so it doesn’t even matter if you don’t have your own wheels. Sky Ride Ipswich will remind you that getting on a bike is about more than just getting to your destination. It’s about relishing the journey, the place you’re in, and the people you’re with.
Those who take to the streets will enjoy a buzzing atmosphere and a variety of fun activities and entertainment for everyone to get involved with. The route is entirely open and optional, so you can come and go as you please and ride for as long as you choose.
Riding your bike is one of the most rewarding ways to take in Ipswich’s amazing array of famous landmarks and renowned architecture such as the stunning Ancient House and the timber houses on St. Nicholas Street. You’ll have the chance to ride around Portman Road stadium, home of the Tractor Boys, Ipswich Town FC. Ipswich’s Waterfront and the beautiful Marina Quay will provide a memorable backdrop to the Ride.
We’re holding Sky Rides across the UK with the aim of getting one-million more people cycling regularly by 2013. Last year, over 216,000 people got involved nationwide and this summer it’s going to be even bigger. All over the country, more and more people are getting on their bikes every day. Join Sky Ride to find out where your bike will take you.
The route for Sky Ride Ipswich is due to be announced soon and it’s going to be spectacular! So make sure you come back to see it closer to the time.
