We follow the cycle superhighway into Bradford before crossing the city to join the cycle route up to the Spen Valley Greenway as far as Cleckheaton where we turn off for our café stop. We go through the attractive village of Hunsworth before crossing Tong Street and heading to Thornbury via Holme Wood perimeter and Tyersal, including the manual level crossing. Chance to go through Bradford en route to Spen Valley Greenway and see the impact of the city centre works before coming off SVG at Cleckheaton and heading back to Shipley via Holme Wood, Tyersal and Undercliffe.

Outward journey is mainly cycle paths and routes whilst return from Cleckheaton is on road but mainly quiet residential and semi-rural ones. Whilst predominantly on smooth surfaces it would be advisable to have a hybrid type bike or grippy tyres given the time of the year.

We will stop at Eve's Café in Cleckheaton which is situated in the park and has indoor and outdoor seating.

All the usual stuff for winter including a spare inner tube.

We never leave anyone behind
