Come and join us for a lovely ride around Winchester.
We will meet at the entrance of the car park of Aldi Winchester (close to Waitrose on Stockbridge Road/Burnett Close).
We will ride via Dean Lane to Sparsholt and turn right towards Littleton. We will continue to Crawley and towards King Somborne. Turning to Strawberry Lane to search for the Strawberries and start to circle back via Ashley and Farley Mount and Sparsholt to the start.
It will be mostly quiet roads and country lanes. As it is Winchester you will meet some hills.
The total distance will be just under 18 miles.
This ride is for those with some cycling experience (and/or low gears!). Be assured it will be a supportive atmosphere for everyone. We will always make sure no one is left behind.
Small reminder list of other useful items:
- Set of lights (front and rear) when the sun sets.
- Appropriate clothing for weather conditions (it gets cooler when the sun sets)
- Bring spare inner tubes, puncture repair kit and a pump - just in case.
- Some water to drink (and may be a snack / cereal bar to eat)
- A helmet is always advisable.
Any type of bike is suitable as long as it's in good working order, although road tires (rather than off-road / mountain bike tires) are better suited.
If you like to join for a drink after the ride, please bring money (and a lock) so we could have a chat at the pub (coffee shops are already closed).
Parking is possible in the evening (mostly post 4pm) on the streets in the area.
Car parking is available at Waitrose (underground) and Aldi but it has a time limit of 2 hours and closes when the shops close.
Most importantly, we will have fun!
We are looking forward seeing you!
