If you're fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. Check out this wonderful 13 mile sea view ride along the shoreline of Weston, Southampton Water, starting from the historic Bargate and following the shoreline all the way to the ancient maritime village of Hamble, via the Royal Victoria Country Park and back again. There's so much to see along the way, including the Norman Gateway to the medieval town of Southampton (Bargate), Itchen Bridge, Weston Shore views, the Chapel in Royal Victoria Country Park and, of course, beautiful Hamble village itself. There are two great refuelling stops too, at Hamble Beach Café or in the country park so please bring some money. Please note that this ride is ideally suited for mountain bikes, hybrid type of bikes and non- racing bikes.
