St George's Day Bumble

This is a lovely route through some of the Leicestershire Villages. We start at the Green in Bitteswell and ride up Ashby Lane, we turn right at Cauldwell Lane and head to Gilmorton. In Gilmorton we turn right and head to Walcote, we turn right at the A426 juntion and are on this road for approx 400 metres. There are average speed camera's in Walcote which slowes the traffic down. We turn left at the side of the garage, go to the Lutterworth/Walcote/Shawell junction and turn left to Swinford, when in Swinford we take the Shawell Road in Shawell we continue until we get back to Lutterwoeth/Walcote/Shawell Junction and take the Lutterworth Road. We use the pedestrian crossing to cross the dual carriage way, cross over the road by Aldi, use the private drive to avoid the traffic, go into Lutterworth and finish at the Sports Centre

Ladies Only Road Bike Ride. We will try to maintain an average speed of 12/14 mph. No One will get dropped, you will never be on your own at the Back :-) Timings are approximate and will depend on the weather and traffic conditions. This route is fairly flat so not particularly hilly, a couple of bumps but nothing that should cause any concern.

With the exception of approx 400 metres on the A426 at Walcote, we will be on what are usually fairly quiet lanes, obvs. this cannot be guaranteed

There are no planned stops, but we will stop for a drink as an when required.

Ladies only. Road Bike. No under 16’s. Helmets are essential, no helmet no ride. Clothing appropriate for the weather. Spare inner tube, tyre levers and a road worthy bike required. Water. Front and Read lights. We have a no drop policy.
