Stanford on Avon

This is a Ladies only Road Bike Ride around some of the Villages in South Leicestershire. No one will get dropped! We are starting off at the Green in Bitteswell, going to Walcote, onto the A426, we take the first left turn to South Kilworth, at the T-Junction we turn right towards Swinford, we then take the left turn down to Stanford-on-Avon. In Stanford we turn right to Swinford, we take the left turn to Shawell and head back to Lutterworth.

We cross over the dual carriageway using the Pedestrian crossing and use Hill Drive in Lutterworth to avoid the worst of the traffic and keep us off the main road. We go up Baker Street and head to the end point at the Sports Centre.

Ladies Only, Road Bike Road. We will be looking at an average speed of 11/13 mph, no one gets dropped and left at the bike. This is somewhat of a challenge as we will be going to Stanford via South Kilworth, there are a couple of undulations, nothing major, but still a bit of a challenge. Timings are approximate and could differ depending on the weather and traffic

Mainly fairly quiet Lanes, we will be on the A426 for approx 100 yards, before taking the 1st turning left to South Kilworth. Lanes that are usually fairly quiet have been selected, obviously this cannot be guaranteed.

We will stop for water as and when required, there are no hard & fast rules

Ladies only Road Bike Ride. No under 16’s. Helmets are essential, no helmet no ride. Clothing appropriate for the weather. Spare inner tube, tyre levers and a road worthy bike required. Water. Front and Rear lights. We have a no drop policy.
