Steady climb to Whistle Inn Blaenavon

We will meet at the car park at the back of Pets at Home in Cwmbran at 10am. We join the canal up towards Pontypool where we change from the canal to the cycle track. The cycle track climbs steadily all the way up to the Garn Lakes where there is a short challenging climb up to the Whistle Inn.
The return is back on the same route as far as Abersychan where we do a slight diversion to follow the river back to Pontypool then through the park to join the canal back to the start.

The ride follows the canal then cycle track steadily up hill to The Whistle Inn. The return route is downhill all the way

Mostly traffic free

Stopping at The Whistle Inn for lunch. There is loads of outdoor seating with a lovely view
