This is a train-assisted ride, using the Elizabeth Line to return to Ealing from Farringdon.

Our longer ride for March takes us on another South London adventure. We ride from Ealing via Chiswick, Hammersmith and Fulham, to cross the river via Wandsworth Bridge. We then head south-east, via Balham, for a brief pause at Tooting Bec Common, before riding on to Streatham Common. A short sharp climb brings us to our destination, the lovely Rookery Garden https://www.londonxlondon.com/streatham-rookery/ where we can explore the nooks & crannies of this beautiful garden. We can visit the Rookery Café for refreshments https://www.therookerycafe.co.uk/ or bring our own food for a picnic on one of the benches in the garden if the weather is fine.

Our return ride takes us through Tulse Hill, Brockwell Park and Brixton, with a pause to admire the impressive Railton Road mural https://jacobvjoyce.radiant-minds.co.uk/mural-sparks-outrage-lol/ . We ride on via Kennington and Elephant & Castle to cross back over the river on Blackfriars Bridge, then up to Farringdon for the Elizabeth Line back to Ealing Broadway (train journey approx. 30 mins).

Ride to Streatham Common to visit the Rookery Gardens. Return to Farringdon and Elizabeth Line back to Ealing.

Quieter back roads where possible, some short stretches on busier roads; shared pedestrian/cycle paths; segregated cycle tracks.

Refreshments at the Rookery Cafe or a picnic in Rookery Gardens. Time to visit the gardens.

Lock for bike. Money/card for cafe and train fare.

First-timers welcome!
