SUMMER SOLSTICE AT RICHMOND HILL

A one-way Summer Solstice evening ride to Richmond Hill to watch the sunset on the longest day of the year. This is ride with 2 start options:

Option1 18miles: Meet at 6pm at Hatch End Station, HA5 4HU. We will meet inside the car park at Hatch End station. There is free parking at Harrow Arts Centre if coming by car.

Option2 15miles: Meet at 6.20pm at West Harrow Park, HA1 4DX. We will meet in front of the bike racks outside the cafe (Syd’s Pizzeria & Coffee Shop) in West Harrow Park. There is a free carpark which can be accessed via Wilson Gardens. Nearest underground station is West Harrow (on the Metropolitan Line) and only a few mins walk away.

Starting from Hatch End Station (start option1) we will make our way to West Harrow Park (start option2) to meet the rest of the group before we continue on our ride to Richmond Hill passing via Northala Fields, Osterley House and Syon park.

The majority of the ride is on quiet residential roads, cycle paths and canal towpaths. Although there are a couple of a couple of brief sections on busier roads.

We will stop for about 1 hour at Richmond Hill to watch the sunset before returning back on the tube. Sunset is at 9.23pm and we aim to be back by 11pm.

Please check your bike before the ride paying particular attention to the brakes and tyres. Please wear a helmet, bring a lock, spare innertube, water and a snack (or money to purchase one). Don't forget lights are the short journey to the station from the hill will be after sunset.
