A ride to an Eighteenth Century port. The first Lancaster port and a prominent English West Coast port. Now a hamlet cut off ( “ Asunder” ) twice every 24 hours by tides and hence named Sunderland. Cycleways where possible, mainly undulating minor roads and some unmade bridleway foreshore routing.
Adequate drinks and Sun Protection essential.
Not a ride for novice riders.
