Starting point

Devon
PL5 1LP

The route is 90% country lanes but where we are on A roads for a very short time extra care must be taken and we may stop to let any cars overtake. The route is careful to use on road cyclepaths through Sal;tash and leaves the A388 at Hatt. After cycling through the woods along by the Lyner river we travel up to St Ive and Pensilva where we travel along a scenic B road through Crows Nest towards Golitha Falls. We return through St Ive and Pillaton to Saltash.

This ride could be changed into a local Saltash ride if weather is poor.
I am planning on stopping at the Sibleyback Reservoir cafe ( Olive & Co Cafe ) for a change, and bringing a sandwich to enjoy with a tea or coffee there.

A look at Ancient Cornwall and the beautiful Cornish Countryside in May. A mainly country lane visit to Golitha falls where we will visit Inkie's Smokehouse BBQ for lunch

Once we leave Saltash we travel along country lanes looking at historical features as we climb up towards Pensilva. We look at an Iron age hill fort and King Donierts Stone (the last King of Cornwall) before having lunch at the Golitha Falls. We cycle through the delightful Bramble Wood and see the bluebells and smell the wild garlic along by some quiet rivers on route. We return through Pillaton and can stop at the Weary Friar pub if necessary.

Bramble wood, Cadsonbury hill fort, King Donierts stone and Trethevy Quoit are all part of the cornish landscape. Lunch at Inkies is quite different with outdoor seating and it would be worth checking the online menu to choose the American BBQ food.

Money, helmet, waterproofs, innertubes, pump , energy bar and mobile phone. The ride could be cancelled due to rain as the lunch stop has an outside seating area so I will keep all riders informed of the weather conditions

We never leave anyone behind
