Starting point

Greater Manchester
M29 7JB

Following on from the success of the Brick Fest ride and Ironman Volunteers/Wellfest ride, 'On Your Bike' Wigan is leading another ride with a difference!

This one is called the 3Cs which represents Coal, Cotton and Canal, important parts of the North West's industrial heritage, especially Wigan Borough. We start at Lancashire Mining Museum, Astley Green and hope to include a brief tour, we then ride the canal to Leigh Spinners Mill one of largest cotton Mills. Back on the canal we ride along to Trencherfield Mill and hope to see the mill steam engine, one of the finest examples of its type and a major contributor to Wigan's industrial development.

We retrace our route back to Astley Green.

Access to the industrial attractions is currently being sought for the times we pass through.

This ride is part of 'The Get Winter Ready Campaign' where 'On Your Bike' will be holding a series of road shows across the Wigan Borough with the aim of encouraging people to keep cycling through the winter, giving away free bike lights and lots of other goodies!
