Just because the days are getting shorter, it doesn’t mean you have to stop cycling. Keep riding with our Autumn Series – now open for free booking. These rides are all about getting the best out of the season, perfect for getting out on your bike and warming up on a fresh autumn morning! As ‘challenging’ rides you can expect distances of twenty miles and above, usually with some hills thrown in along the way. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to take part, but you’ll need to be fairly fit. A virtually flat ride along routes already popular with many local cyclists, taking in several interesting historical places. Visit the site where many Spitfires were built, cycle along an old Roman Road as you visit some of the cotswold's prettiest towns and villages.Starting in urban Swindon and utilising the cycle routes we quickly find ourselves at cycling past where the infamous Spitfires were built then past Stanton Country Park. We meander through scenic country roads through Hannington, Casue Eaton and by Kempsford. Then we loop around RAF Fairford, passing the fishing and water sports lakes then to Fairford for a potential refreshment stop. From there it's a meander through Meysey Hampton and Down Ampney towards Cleveland Lakes Nature Reserve and past the beautiful North Meadow Crickdale National Nature Reserve. The route then takes us back through Crickdale and over the River Ray back into Swindon over the Millenium Bridge.
