The Best Road in Leicestershire!

We leave Great Bowden and follow the lane all past the prison and all with way into Gumley. It's a lovely road with views over the open countryside and the canal. There's a biggish hill to climb to get into Gumley but you can stop for a breather, walk up or maybe just turn up the power if you've got an electric bike! We then cycle along "the best road in Leicestershire" admiring the wonderful views on either side whilst taking care to avoid the cows! It's then pretty much downfill from Laughton to Lubenham where we cross the main road and pottle back into Harborough. There we'll be able to get a drink either at Moomins or The Three Swans.

In my opinion, this route includes the lovliest road in the county. We have to climb quite a hill to get there but stopping part way up is just fine. The climb is worth it because the views are just lovely. The road is unfenced and we might have to stop to for sheep, cows or even cricket!

We cycle along quiet county lanes with little in the way of traffic.

We'll stop a number of times for a breather and a drink along the way. We can also enjoy a drink together at the end of the ride.

Helmets must be worn on this ride. You will probably also want a water bottle and some money to buy a drink.

New riders are very welcome, we go at a gentle pace, chatting as we ride. And we never leave anyone behind.
