The Common to Test Way

This 18 mile, mainly flat route uses cycle paths and quiet roads to go from Southampton Common, meeting on the grass area near the entrance on Hill Lane, opposite to the Bellemoor Tavern (what3words: candy.beams.tile) to Totton via the SCN1 Western Cycle Freeway and across the River Test. We'll wind our way through the quiet parts of Totton, through green spaces and mostly on cycle paths. Then it's not long before you're on country lanes.

You'll continue to Moorcourt, part of the Mountbatten Estate famed for its trout fishing and connections with royalty, across the tributaries of beautiful River Test and the Test Way. We then begin the return to Southampton via plenty more views and some new cycling infrastructure.

We will be riding together at all times, at a pace everyone is comfortable with. Please bring a drink and a snack if you wish. Make sure you wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions and a cycle helmet. Please also bring a pump and spare inner tube that fits your bike if you have one.
