So you have now had a leisurely warm-up, time to get down to business. Only 43 miles in this section but phew, we need to get out of West Yorkshire and into the Peak District. We have 4500 ft of climbing and a fair amount of descending ahead too. The views get big and dramatic and the hill come thick and fast. We head SW towards Clayton West y and skirt past Deffer Hill. Our route now changes from previous years, we head to Ingbirchworth and to Lagsett Reservoir. The next section is joy for climbers several peaks in quick succession and tasty gradients as we navegate the famous and challenging Strines. We top out on Mortimer Rd along Wigan Tor. After some rolling miles we rise again to Brogging End before descending to Manchester Road and our lunch stop near Ladybower. Crossing Yorkshire Bridge, we then join Route 6 and then peel off towards Brough on Noe. We head on south through Bradwell where the climbing starts again, we head westward at Tideswell. Our final climb is is a short punchy 10% over the railway lines with Tunstead Works to our left. The final section is the welcome decent into Buxton and accommodation at Palace Hotel.

Mainly quiet country lanes

We never leave anyone behind
