Starting point

Devon
PL20 6DT

From Yelverton to Walkhampton, Horrabridge and Plasterdown, the original site of an American Field Hospital for D Day casualties, then down across the Tavy at Harford Bridge, followed by a gentle climb to West Blackdown and the Tavistock to Lydford road, skirting South Brentor on our way. Coffee and cake stop at Lydford Gorge. Afterwards it's up through the village past the tower of what was once a 13th century castle, then a gentle descent through much of the Newman Estate, from here we make our over the Lyd, and up to Liddaton and Bowden Commons, sites of special scientific interest. We emerge just below North Brentor's Church situated on its volcanic outcrop, before a straight run down to Tavistock, the Drakes Trail and home.

No average speed or rush on this scenic route.
