Join us for a ride over Harrogate way exploring west and north of the spa town, Ripley and its picture postcard Castle, Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey Studley Royal Deer Park, a glance of Ripon Cathedral and Knaresborough
We head out of the car park to Hookstone drive, turning right down to the lights at Wetherby road where we take the second left onto Woodland drive and follow coming out on Knaresborough road, its a left and right onto Kingsley road where we follow to Bog lane and pick up the Nidderdale Greenway to Ripley passing over the Nidd Gorge Viaduct, a quick peak at the castle and a powder room break, its out on Hollybank lane, then onto Clint, Birstwith, Hartwith, pass Brimham Rocks, turning to Warsill we make our way past the old entrance to Fountains Abbey for a cheeky short climb before entering the Studley Royal Deer park for a lovely down through the arch turning left coming on on Studley road and then left into the garden centre for our lunch
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100048614181504Leaving our stop we head towards Ripon, turning right onto Borrage lane to skirt round Ripon picking up Littlethorpe lane, across A61 and onto Copgrove, Occaney, Farnham, Scriven and Knaresborough, taking a left onto Stockwell lane, across the lights at High street dropping down Briggate and onto Calcutt, turn right onto Forest Moor road, left then right onto Hookstone chase, before the retail park we turn left onto the greenway back to the showground at the traffic lights.
Not an overly hilly ride, there are climbs but nothing to bad
Usual, pennies for food and drink, spare inner tubes etc, fully charged ebike
