The first part of the ride takes us from our meeting point at the Wellington Pub, Prescot and out towards Town Green and Aughton via Rainford and Bickerstaffe. We will cross the A59 and head towards Clieves Hill for a nice little climb(!) where will stop to get our breath back and hopefully, weather permitting, enjoy the fabulous views from the top of the hill. On a good day you can see for miles and the climb is well worth the effort! We will head towards Halsall Village and after our food and drink stop return to Ormskirk and then via Ruff Lane, Lylake Lane, Rainford Junction and back to our starting point at Prescot..

A circular route from The Wellington Prescot to the Village Bakery at Halsall via Rainford Aughton and Clieves Hill. Return via Ormskirk, Westhead and Rainford Junction.

This ride is suitable for most bikes bikes; hybrid (fitted with road and off-road tyres), mountain bikes, road bikes, electric bikes and is mostly on hard surface roads and paths.

There will be cafe stop at either the Village Bakehouse at Halsall, so remember to bring along some money for a coffee and cake or whatever takes your fancy.

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required).

This is a scenic ride in some excellent cycling countryside on a well established and popular route and there will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way. We want everyone to enjoy this very friendly group ride so it will be at a pace to suit all riders in the group and to take account of the weather conditions (usually between 10-12 mph). We will never leave anyone behind and we want everyone to enjoy the ride!
